Course reviews
Peter New ZealandPractical go to for tackling skills
Guy McKim CanadaVery clear, simple effective progression, thanks
Matthew Kuhn EnglandNice and clear.
Harry Bodman AustraliaWow thats good technique. its good to see pros that have a good idea teaching the younger generation.
JL Neale EnglandGreat to see a top draw player showing consistency with RFU level 2 coaching of the tackle and contest for the ball. I like the “chopping your feet” term which is good way to keep your feet alive and close in. I also like the warning about diving into the tackle.
tom grenfell EnglandReally useful
Jon Boyle EnglandReally liked the way the tackle was broken down into its constituent elements, particularly the focus on the post-tackle phase, which is easy for beginners to miss.
Dan Gauthier CanadaGreat video for teaching the importance of leg drive through the tackle and also for the tackler to quickly regain their feet and immediately begin the ruck contest by trying to drive beyond the ball.
Michael Woolley New ZealandAwesome!! Very clear instructions and demonstrated technique
Roger C. Wilson USAExcellent. Substantial length, broad coverage (tackle, post-tackle, breakdown), logical organization, clear statement of principles, very effective demonstrations. And yes, he says chop your feet, not chock them. Well done. Very helpful video.
John Christopher lavery CanadaI think he means shorten your steps so they are “choppy”. Just looks like that because he is standing still trying not to kill the little guys. It’s tough to talk your way through a demonstration… thinking and talking at the same time has never been the strength of the forwards.
John Walters New ZealandTheres always more than one way to do things I guess.
Scott Dunstan Australia“Choc your feet” seems to contradict Graham Henry’s tracking and tackling video, where he advocates “keeping your feet alive”.
