React quicker. Realign faster. Exploit the space. In this series, Lado Kilasonea, Georgia assistant coach and U20s and Black Lions coach, uses competitive games to develop players’ reactions and alignment in transition. The first game challenges players to get into position and move the ball quickly into space. The next level adds a contest for possession, requiring players to recognise their role and realign quickly in attack or defence. Simple games, specific skills and competition to keep players engaged.
When it comes to the counter attack, speed can take precedence over skill. Using competition in drills can drive faster running and quicker ball movement!
